No Words Can Describe This One...

Today while driving home down RR620 we came over the top of the hill with Lake Travis on our right hand side and the sun setting in front of us. With Taylor in the backseat I just happened to say, "look at the pretty sunset". He looked straight ahead and calmly said, "who made this". As Andrew and I both looked at each other in amusement and bewilderment, I responded "GOD". That was a pretty deep conversation for a 2 year old and for his mother and father!

Counting Fingers

Taylor has been counting from 1-10 for months now, but he has lots of tricks of preventing Mom and Dad from catching the whole thing. Last summer his favorite number was "2". Everything was "2", no other number existed. That progressed into counting alone in his crib when he thought that nobody was listening (little does he know that we're watching him on the video monitor). Then finally he would count for us, but skip 7 and 8 and go on to 9 and 10 (those numbers didn't exist for him for a while). This month he started using his fingers to count and wouldn't you know it, we finally heard Taylor count from 1-10 all by himself and in front of us! I finally was able to catch a cute video of him counting, but of course he clams up a little and doesn't get all the way to 10. His technique is pretty funny to watch!

Birthday Wishes...

Yesterday was Taylor's 2nd birthday party (his real birthday is Tuesday, February 3rd) but we decided to celebrate a little early. Where do I even begin...a jumpy castle, a dozen red balloons, 1 Elmo cupcake cake, presents, margartias (adults only), chicken tacos, and a house full of family and friends!

The last year has been busy and full of more FIRSTS: he can run really fast (especially when you want to change his diaper), climb up things, climb down things, jump off of things, hit a golf ball, drive a golf cart (kid version), kick a ball, slide all by himself, hold a spoon and fork and actually get the food into his mouth, say "please" and "thank-you", color pictures to display on the fridge, push a scooter and a trike, brush his own teeth (except we still get in there before his turn) and he talks up a storm! But best of all he gives us hugs and kisses and can say, "I love you mommy"! Melts my heart every time. He's full of energy, laughter, giggles, smiles, and humor...the toddlers years can be tough at times, but we're having so much fun so far!

Maybe the musical gene does run in the family???

Thanks uncle Tony for not purchasing a drum set for Taylor! Maybe next year, but we sure had a lot of fun playing on yours:-) I think Andrew had a little too much fun playing the guitar!
