It's Been a Long Time Coming

Last October 26th, I flew back home to sunny San Diego to attend my best friend's baby shower. Carisa and I have been best friends since the 8th grade. Being 1500 miles away from each other has been tough, but we've been lucky enough to see each other at least once a year since I've moved to Texas. Her baby shower was absolutely beautiful and Carisa and her husband Paul got everything they would need as new parents and then some!

Me, Carisa, and her younger sister Cheryl at the shower

Traveling to San Diego by myself proved to be harder than I was anticipating. It was the first time since having Taylor that I would have to fly by myself. I've been away from Taylor with Andrew (my rock) but this time was different...it was just me! Needless to say that leading up to the plane trip I made myself physically sick with motherly worries.

So Now I would Like To Introduce:

Ashley Mckinzie Azzi

Born December 9th

She's already changed so much in a month and a half! She's got her daddy's dark hair! Miss you guys:-)

A Walk in the Park

Monday was a holiday for all us hard working teachers, so that meant that I got to tag along with my boys and Uncle Tony to Disc Golf in Zilker Park. Mondays weather couldn't have been prettier and we had a great time playing 18 "baskets"! Taylor's already getting the hang of throwing the disc, we just have to get him to work on his direction...watch out for your shins! Most of the time he just enjoys throwing it straight up in the air. I was so surprised that he was so good. He just toddled along the whole way and practiced taking turns with everyone...something that we have been learning a lot about lately. When we were finished we had lunch at Shady Grove again and this time Taylor got his very own "kiddy cup" filled with lemonade. No questioning the waitress this time! The red baseball hat was a must because he saw daddy and Uncle Tony wearing their hats...he's old enough now to be "just one of the boys"!

Kids Say The Funniest Things...

Today was a "Daddy Day" so Andrew and Taylor went to go play Frisbee Golf in Zilker Park. Let me tell you that I was much happier with this activity than last weeks mud puddle jumping, hiking in the mud day. Who knew that you can wash and dry Stride Rite tennis shoes and they come out looking new. The socks however where not so lucky...trashed! Never buy white socks, they never are as good as they are right out of the package! Colored socks are awesome!
Anyways, after "disk golf" as Taylor calls it, they went to have lunch at Shady Grove. Taylor gets spoiled at restaurants because usually one of us orders Sprite and he can have some. Well today was a little different because Andrew ordered lemonade. Taylor was loving the lemonade so much that he didn't want to share it with Andrew and thought that it was all his. Supposedly, holding it in his lap the entire time. When the waitress came by with a refill (for my husband), Taylor proceeded to swing around and tell the waitress, "Where's Tay-Tay's????". Can't sneak anything past this guy anymore!

Winter

When the weather outside is frosty and too cold to play in how do you entertain a hyper 2 year old toddler? Well...you set up a giant tent with an attached tunnel in your living room of course! Then you proceed to stuff as many of your toys into the tent and happily play indoors with Daddy all day.

Notice that Taylor is still in his pajamas and this picture was taken at 6pm. Another Daddy Day favorite:-) Taylor does love his PJ's and will prefer to wear them inside all day instead of getting dressed.

I finally did it!!

I finished the Stephanie Meyer "Twilight" series over Christmas. After logging over 2500 pages, I feel a sense of accomplishment! I don't think I've read 2500 pages of anything since being out of college (8 years ago). I really enjoyed the saga of Edward and Bella and can't wait for the next movie to come out! I do think I've caught the reading bug ( at least for a while) so I'm ready for something NEW:-) Suggestions welcome!
