A New Vocabulary

With the turn of the birthday calendar, we've already begun to notice another language boost. However, this one has come with some positives and some humorous negatives.

New Words Lately (Positives):

hilarious

humungous

hysterical

(no he hasn't been reading the "H" section of the dictionary-however he does have a Clifford dictionary-hmmm, but no it doesn't have those words in it...I checked)

New Favorite Phrases (Negatives-but funny when he's not looking):
Of course when it's said in his silly voice it's so much better...

Hey fluffy pants!

Stinky pants!

Stinky underwear head!

Stinky toot (or fart)!

Burp! Oh, I threw-up-ha, ha

Recent Conversation:

Mommy what are you doing?
Trying to open this chocolate wrapper...
Mommy don't be a FOOL!
Excuse me, TAYLOR! You do not call people fools!
Mommy you're PRETTY!

Boy you are good-----already becoming a little charmer:)

The Lake House-Part 4

We had the awesome pleasure of staying with Andrew's family in a Lake House for Taylor's Birthday weekend. The snow that fell the day before, somewhat goofed things up because we were suppose to stay two nights, but instead we decided to stay one night because we thought there may be icy roads the morning of Taylor's birthday and we'd be stranded.

Looking up at the lake house from the boat dock.
Beautiful Lake Travis!
Uncle Tony, Andrew, Uncle Bubba, and Grandpa
Aunt Melissa, GeeGee, Me, and Aunt Vikki
Hot Tubbing with Megan and Garrett.
Smiley!
Sleepyheads after a long day...

The Party-Part 3

The Bounce House was the best place for a 4 year olds birthday.
Nothing is better than letting your child run, jump, bounce, roll, and slide-anything goes!
We had a great time with all the kiddos!

Happy 4th Birthday Taylor!

Young or old, everyone LOVES presents!

Party Decorations-Part 2

Birthday parties are so fun to plan because you get to do the invitations, the decorations, pick a theme and location, and have fun being creative!
I decided to make ice cream cone cupcakes this year-
fun to make, but not so fun to transport to the birthday party location.
Luckily, they all made it there in one piece thanks to Grandpa's quick thinking, a box, and a small saw. Sorry, I didn't get a picture of that but it was just a box top with cone sized holes cut out so that I could carry them in the car. They fit perfectly!!
Cupcake toppers made by Dawn at Designerfavors.
Disney's Cars Theme this year.

Snack bowl of Cars fruit snacks, Go-Gurts, and cheese & cracker packs.
Goodie Bags!
Birthday banner made by a special friend Jenn!
It literally was 10 feet long so I couldn't take a picture with it all in one frame.
Last year we took a picture in front of the Austin Steam Train holding up "3" for Taylor's 3rd birthday.
We liked the picture so much that we want to do it every year.
Here's our 4's in front of the Jungle jumpy at the Big Bounce.

House Party-Part 1

We did SO much this past weekend to celebrate Taylor's birthday that I need to separate it into several different posts. Taylor's birthday was on Thursday, his grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins came on Friday, his birthday party was on Saturday, and then we were at a lake house for the rest of Saturday and Sunday-Whew! Oh, and then to top it all off Taylor spent time in the ER on Sunday night. What a whirlwind weekend!
Mmmmmm, chocolate cake his favorite!
Unfortunately, due to a stomach virus he didn't eat much of it.
Um, looking at this picture I can't help but think about where in the world the last 4 years went!

Practicing the new balance needed to push his new 2 wheel scooter.
Just a little bit different than his older 3 wheel scooter.
In Taylor fashion, he had it down in about 5 minutes!

Austin Snow Day

Nothing better than getting a Snow Day off of school on a Friday!
As a bonus, it was the day after Taylor's real birthday, and the day before his party!
Lot of excitement going on around here!

New Birthday rainboots really came in handy today!
Thanks Pops and Granny Deirge!

See Ya Three, We're Finally Four!

Wow, what can I say, it's been a roller coaster of a year, but I think we've made it to the other side.
Hello smiles and laughter, goodbye frowns and tears-maybe?
I've decided that we have a very emotionally charged boy on our hands, so I hope to learn some new strategies this coming year on how to better help Taylor manage his emotions.

You truly have learned so much this year that I'm not sure where to begin.
You've also had many new "first" this year too.
-peddled your trike
-corrected your /th/ pronunciation
-dressed yourself
-learned the alphabet letters
-learned the alphabet sounds
-wrote the alphabet
-wrote your name
-learned to make rhymes (funniest one yet is: whore/door)
-colored within the lines
-became right handed for sure
-practiced cutting things out of paper
-made new friends
-went to pre-school
-learned to share with lots of others around
-learned about consequences
-learned to use your words instead of crying or whining-still doesn't always work!
-learned to do a summersault
-learned to rock climb and bounce on a trampoline
-learned to bowl
-flew on an airplane
-rode a train
-went down a waterslide
-asked the HEB cashier for a balloon all by yourself-using manners-for a shy boy this was HUGE!

-had a successful 3rd dental visit-doctor found an extra adult tooth on his x-ray, WEIRD!
-went to the rodeo-loved the pig races
